Therapy isn't about taking the easy road; it's about forging a therapeutic connection that empowers you to confront challenges and foster personal growth. Though therapy and trauma therapy may present their challenges, I firmly believe in our capacity to overcome them.
I employ a variety of therapeutic approaches tailored to meet individuals wherever they may be in their journey. Recognizing that each person's path is unique, I reject the notion of a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. My aim isn't to keep you or your child in therapy indefinitely. Instead, I view therapy as a tool that can integrate into our lives as needed—a resource for ongoing maintenance rather than a perpetual requirement.
For parents seeking trauma therapy for their children, I often turn to Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). This method supports children and provides guidance and strength for parents or guardians navigating difficult circumstances. Unlike traditional talk therapy, TF-CBT has a structured beginning and end. Typically, children complete TF-CBT within 12-16 weeks through weekly sessions. When TF-CBT may not yield the desired results, I may turn to Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR, depending on the individual's trauma history, generally spans 6-12 weeks to complete.
