Your Dedicated Professional

Sierra Renham

MSW, LCSW

  • Over the past five years, I have been working with teens who have experienced physical, emotional, and/or sexual abuse, along with community, gang, and gun violence in a juvenile correctional facility. I am a trained trauma therapist utilizing TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) as interventions. Before this, I was doing family therapy in homes. Therapy is not meant to be easy, and I am here to build a therapeutic relationship that allows you to be pushed and challenged to achieve personal growth. Trauma therapy is hard, and you can do hard things!

I have professionally branched out into Sports Therapy. As a former athlete, I understand the struggles and demands of sport and the vulnerabilities we don't feel we can or should discuss.

I have my certificate in sports social work from the National Alliance of Social Workers in Sports. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Oregon and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Minnesota.

  • I became interested in working with athletes through my coaching experience at the Division II level. I noticed athletes experiencing high levels of anxiety to the point that they were being subbed off the field due to panic attacks. This sparked my interest in working with athletes in a mental health capacity.

I am currently an OES assistant high school coach and a United PDX club coach. Before moving to the Portland area, I was coaching in the WPSL. I have been an assistant coach at two Division II schools and one Division III school. I played semi-professional soccer and Division I soccer.

  • I grew up in Red Deer, Alberta, and then moved to Fargo, North Dakota, to play college soccer and obtain my Bachelor of Social Work degree. North Dakota State University is where I met my astonishing wife, Danielle, and where we started to grow our wolfpack family and community. We enjoy many sports and outdoor activities. We have two dogs, Arlo and Jasper, who love going on adventures with us.

We recently moved to Portland to pursue my wife’s dream career and my goal to build a private practice.
